hi all!

this is brand new test install.  need some help:

http://ted.homeip.net/wwwthreads/login.html

does not exist

http://ted.homeip.net/wwwthreads/login.php    does exist!

so i manually change to

http://ted.homeip.net/wwwthreads/login.php

and

enter login info

i get...

http://ted.homeip.net/wwwthreads/login-action-in.html

(that one does noting if it change it to .php)

...and this error:

Not Found

The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at ted.homeip.net Port 16080

so even though i successfully set up everything and can see the welcome message page, i can't login!

if i click on the admin profile i see the info, why i don't know because apparently i am not logged in (no control panel etc.).

if  click register (after changing html to php) i can fill out the info but there is no security word (pic) just a 'gif ?' --so it fails.  it may fail for other reasons but i can't tell at this point.

various links, such as register, etc. give that same error.  i do, of course, see my forum.

any help is appreciated
