Before you sign up for an affiliate program ask yourself why people come to your Web site and what kinds of people read it.
Then imagine what kinds of things your readers would be interested in buying. For example, if your site is about your cats, you might want to sign up for affiliate programs that sell cat food or cat toys. If your site is about children you might want to consider an affilite program that sells children's clothes.

I have a few sites of my own, the best way is to make your site more visible to search engines by creating links. I used the info at http://dimanomarketing.wordpress.com/20 … ild-links/ to help me find ways that worked for my business and the businesses of sites I built to help bring traffic into the site.
