how effective would it be to register the .org, info, biz, along with the .net and .com's of a domain? would i be wasting my money and simply over exagerrating my presence, since other ccTLD's can also be registered?

I think if you have the dot com that is usually enough, depending on what the website you want to make will be about.

Personally I would go with reg'ing both the com and org and forget the others you mention, in most cases. Often only reg'ing the com is best (if available). At times I feel the org works as well, perhaps even better for some specific categories. They are both good. Rarely would the net biz and info be worthwhile, IMO (unless it is a flagship website).

If you are going to start a business I would advise registering .com .net .org .info .biz as a defensive move. I think it would also make sense to grab the ccTLDs where you would be conducting business (.us .ca etc).
You might regret not taking the names when they were available later.

From my experience, I would suggest to register .com or .net, any dots are not effective to the customer. I mean, it's so difficult to remember or promote (from marketing perspective).
