submit your site to directories as much as possible using keyword/s... also use your keyowrd/s as you sig in forums..join other forums... the more forums you join much better... its normal.. it really takes time for a keyword/s to rank... you can also use unique keyword/s for fast rankings...

Yep, backlinks are key, especially from high traffic sites as these will be held in high regard with the search engines.  The more backlinks the better.

Search Google for your keywords and look what sites are coming up top.  Of these top sites, are there any that you can participate in such as forums, classifieds etc?  If there are then join & start submitting!

Write some informative articles related to your site and submit them to the high traffic article directories.  If they're good articles they'll end up all over the net, with a link back to your site.  Very effective viral marketing.

Try the free traffic exchanges for immediate traffic too.  You can even use these to generate another income source!

Don't forget to check your site content for SEO efficiency.  Check your keyword density is around 3 to 5%.  Make sure the content is original and updated regularly.

Since yours is a rather new site , I would recommend you build links in a natural way. Thouh links are very important , gathering links too fast is not good.  Submit your sites to free web directories and in many webmaster forums there is a section called review my site , posting your site their will active link will help you be indexed faster.
